„A Road to e-Municipality: A digital city”

The Conference will be attended by speakers, experts and IT company representatives from leading in this field EU countries.
During the event will be discussed the best practices and solutions for reasonable and appropriate application of the new technologies in the service of citizens. To deal with the problems arising from daily services we need something more than measures, regulations and strategies.
The real challenge is in transforming the initiatives in more rapid and transparent management processes in the administration in order to reduce costs and increase the mutual trust between institutions and citizens.
Among the participants in the conference will be municipalities in Bulgaria, state institutions and ministries, as well as business representatives.
Concrete purpose of the conference is the discussion of projects with representatives of the organizers, industry and municipalities for applying for OP Administrative Capacity (OPAC) - Improving service to citizens and businesses, including through development of eGovernment (lower priority 3.1). The procedure aims at establishing quality and customer oriented services and developing e-government. The minimum value of the projects is 250 000 leva, with no maximum value.
The period for implementation is 18 months. Application deadline is 30 January 2009.
On the conference will be present representatives of the Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform, which are managing body at OPAC projects.
